Pupils from KnowleDGE have been making soup and taking it into local businesses to raise funds for a recipe book. Cookery teacher Maxine Golbourne brought a warming butternut squash soup to Knowle West Media Centre today with home made rolls for staff to buy for lunch.
She said: "We're raising money to produce a book of family recipes from the pupils at KnowleDGE."

Knowle West Media Centre staff learnt more about the workings of the Furniture Factory at Filwood Green Business Park as part of a team day. This was followed by a stint of creativity when they tried their hands at making objects for themselves.
We've had a fantastic team day down at Filwood Green Business Park, at our digital manufacturing unit KWMC: The Factory. After we shared expertise about product design and development, we got stuck in to prototyping. One group of staff made a to-scale Media Centre! What's its purpose? You'll have to wait and see...
Young people from South Bristol joined Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) this month to make their green pledges for Do 15 in 15 campaign. They pressed the button supplied by Bristol 15 which is travelling around the city helping organisations launch their pledges. The young people aged 9-18 were taking part in KWMC'S Summer Programme. Youngsters learnt how to build and programme robots today at Knowle West Media Centre. It was one of the many activities taking place during the organisation's STEAM week (Science, Technology, Art and Maths) which runs until Friday 14 August for young people aged nine and above.
A week of coding, app-making and fun has been happening at Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC). Young people aged 8-18 have been designing and making their own apps - with the help of mentors - at the Rewired State Festival of Code. They will all be off to Plymouth University on Friday 31st July for the weekend to present their apps to a team of judges - we wish them luck.
The Filwood Gets Fit Banner makes and appearance at Filwood Broadway along with me and my bike! Filwood Gets Fit will run 6th-10th July - look out for the full programme available mid June!

A display of his photographs, Frank Sinatra and harp music provided a fitting tribute to Bristol photographer George Gallop at Knowle West Media Centre - who sadly died last month at the age of 85.
George who grew up in Tavistock Road, Knowle West, left a lasting legacy of 10,000 photographs, including many celebrities and royals - from Muhammad Ali to Princess Diana.
They can be viewed on Flickr/George Gallop.
