Today we are learning how to build and programme sensors. Lots of creative thinking going on about how we can use them to collect valuable data for our projects.
Come join us at the KWMC AGM event on Tuesday 24th Nov, and you'll have the chance to win this set of Christmas Decorations designed by The Laser House, as a prize for the best photo shared on myKW!

Thanks to Lloyds employees who took up the tools and helped clear the garden at Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC), under the watchful eye of our head gardener Jez. Under exceptionally hot weather for the time of year, they turned the overgrown borders into a tranquil space to enjoy.
Here I am building a micro controller circuit (under the supervision of KWMC's tech manager Barry) for our MemoryScapes clock (or Time Capsule). When you open the face, music/memories/messages of your choice can play, and you can store memorabilia inside. Developed through workshops with older people, MemoryScapes is aimed to support people with dementia to reconnect with the past in a full sensory way.
We've had a fantastic team day down at Filwood Green Business Park, at our digital manufacturing unit KWMC: The Factory. After we shared expertise about product design and development, we got stuck in to prototyping. One group of staff made a to-scale Media Centre! What's its purpose? You'll have to wait and see...
Really enjoyed Saturday's KWFest! Lots of great activities, workshops, food, projects, music, local people!
An excellent mural created by a group of young people for #STEAM week at KWMC. The USBee was made by recycling parts of old, broken tech.
