Local parents and children came to celebrate the long-awaited opening of a new playground in Knowle West - complete with carved tree sculpture. The Inns Court Playground was opened by Bristol Mayor George Ferguson. It took a year for Bristol City Council to plan in consultation with local people and six weeks to construct - and is already proving a hit with young families during the school holidays. The sculpted giant redwood tree was created by wood carver Andy O'Neill using a chain saw - and took ten days to complete.

Pupils from KnowleDGE have designed their own sculpture of Shaun the Sheep with Bristol artist Tim Sutcliffe. The sculpture of "Global Shaun" will be on display in Filwood Library during the summer holidays before returning to the school in September. The sculpture celebrates the school's links with Kenya. A flock of 70 sculptures of Shaun the Sheep will be designed and decorated by artists, designers and celebrities and placed around Bristol this summer. The trail will run from 6 July – 31 August, ending in a public exhibition and charity auction this autumn. -See more at: http://www.knowlewest.co.uk/shaun-the-sheep-sculpture-designed-by-knowle-west-pupils/#sthash.IsJs6yDb.dpuf
